As work finally begins on the big-screen follow-up to the long-running HBO hit Sex & the City, OK! has learned that the show’s four leading ladies will have some company in the form of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.

According to reports, Hudson, who took home the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award (and just about every other trophy known to man) last year for her performance opposite Beyonce in Dreamgirls, has been cast as an assistant to SATC‘s main minx Carrie Bradshaw, played once again by Sarah Jessica Parker.

All this is great news for fans of SATC, who have waited for years to see the show’s four heroines, played by Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, strut their stuff around the Big Apple one last time.
