Jennifer Lawrence on 'The Hunger Games': "I'm a Massive Fan Too, So I Get It"

Jennifer Lawrence has landed the lead role for the film version of Suzanne Collins' young-adult book trilogy, The Hunger Games and fans have had mixed reaction on the news. But Jennifer isn't taking it personally and says she understands their feelings.

In a new interview with Teen Vogue, Jennifer opens up on on her role in The Hunger Games and her reaction to fans' comments that she's too "old, sexy, pretty and blonde."
"The cool thing about Katniss is that every fan has such a personal relationship with her, and they understand and know her in a singular way," Jennifer says. "I'm a massive fan too, so I get it."

Gary Ross, the film's director, said casting Jennifer was "the easiest casting decision I've ever made in my life" and Collins said "I never thought we'd find somebody this perfect for the role."

"She's incredibly powerful, brave, and tough — and yet she has a tenderness and complexity," Jennifer says of Katniss. "It was very humbling hearing that Suzanne and Gary feel that I embody those traits."
