Jennifer Lopez is "Sad" Over Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes' Divorce: "I Was Stunned"

Jennifer Lopez reveals she was devastated when she heard the news that her close friends, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, had called it quits.

The singer and actress — whose American Idol gig is hanging in the balance — opened up about her pals' split, comparing it to her divorce with Marc Anthony.

"I'm sad for them. They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore," J.Lo, who attended the couple's Italian wedding in Nov. 2006, told ET Online, saying she hasn't talked to Tom or Katie, but has "thought about it a lot."  

"I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned," she revealed. 

And J.Lo knows what it's like to have young kids and go through something as heartbreaking as a divorce, so her heart goes out to six-year-old Suri and Tom's kids eith ex-wife Nicole Kidman, Isabella, 19, and Connor, 17.

"You know I just wish them peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, it's Connor and Isabella and everybody... you all become a family," Jennifer shared.
