Jennifer Lopez on Saving Casey Abrams on 'American Idol': "We Had to Do It!"

Casey Abrams has to prove himself now to American Idol after the judges saved him early when it was still top 11. But Jennifer Lopez says the decision on saving Casey was easy and she doesn't regret it.

The American Idol judge chatted with host Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday during his KISS-FM radio show.

"We knew that it was kind of a radical decision because it was so early in the season, but to be quite honest... that is one decision that I haven't lost one ounce of sleep over," Jennifer explained (via Rolling Stone).

"Casey is one of our most dynamic performers. He's so interesting and so talented," she said. "I know it's crazy, but we had to do it!"

Tonight on Idol, the contestants will sing Elton John classics and Jennifer is comfortable with America doing the judging.

"Now it's up to America," J. Lo said. "I really feel we put 11 amazing contestants in front of them, and now it's about who their favorite is, who's going to be their American Idol.

"I didn't realize I was going to fall in love with the contestants the way I have and feel for them the way I do...but I feel good putting the voting in viewers' hands."
