Jersey City Signs On For 'Jersey Shore' Spin-Off

Hold onto your hair product — a Jersey Shore spin-off is coming to Jersey City! Mere days after the Hoboken mayor nixed a proposal, it looks like producers at MTV put on their thinking caps to charm Hoboken's neighbor.

NEWS: HOBOKEN MAYOR REJECTS JERSEY SHORE SPIN-OFF Jersey City has issued a producers permit to film a spin-off of the popular reality series that will star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley. And they aren't wasting any time — filming will begin later this month in the Grove Street neighborhood. VIDEO: NICOLE POLIZZI SAYS ALTER EGO SNOOKI IS "NOT A ROLE MODEL" BUT "CAN BE" Whereas the Hoboken mayor was concerned about the quality of life and safety issues for residents of that city, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy sings a different tune, believing the show will be an opportunity to promote the JC. According to the Associated Press, Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said the cast and crew must obey all laws. Plus, the production company must hire police to reduce any impact the show may have on the public.
