Jessica Simpson Tries and Fails to Bail Friend Out of Jail

Jessica Simpson attempted to bail her allegedly drunk make up artist out of jail early Friday morning, TMZ reports, but unfortunately for the pal, Jess didn't have success.
Law enforcement said Mary Phillips was arrest at about 1:30 this morning after police received a disturbing the peace call in West Hollywood at the Sunset Tower Hotel.
Mary was arrested for public intoxication and TMZ reports that Jessica went to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department in West Hollywood after Mary was booked to try and bail her friend out.

Mary had worked with Jessica on her big hits The Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the Month.
Jessica ended up being turned away by the jail because police felt Mary was still to intoxicated to be releasesd and she remains in custody.
