Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's squeaky clean dad, Joe, was officially charged with two misdemeanor counts today, one for driving under the influence and one for driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher, after his August 4 arrest in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

The double charges could lead to time behind bars for the minister who hails from Texas.

If found guilty, the maximum sentence carries six months in jail, 36 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
He will be arraigned on August 30 in L.A.
