Jessica Stroup on Portraying Bipolar Disorder

Jessica Stroup doesn't take playing a bipolar character on 90210 lightly, saying she is careful not to portray Silver's mood swings as too over the top.

"It's something that touches so many people but isn't really explored, Jessica tells the Associated Press, adding that she researched bipolar disorder before attempting to bring it out in her character.

The results seem to be resonating with fans, as Jessica tells the AP some "have reached out to me to say they watched and it meant a lot."

The second season of 90210 premieres tonight on the CW.
