Jewel Calls Pregnancy a "Privilege" & Says It's "Kind of Sad" Men Don't Experience It

Jewel, 37, is expecting her first child with rodeo star hubby Ty Murray this summer! The singer/songwriter covers the latest issue of Fit Pregnancy and opens up to the mag about her pregnancy so far — cravings, exercise — and the built-up excitement to meet her baby!
Jewel shares that she has been feeling really great throughout her pregnancy.
"I'm enjoying pregnancy much more than I thought I would," she shares. "I didn’t know what to expect, every woman is different and you hear such horror stories. But I also heard that you should try to enjoy it, so I took that to heart and tried not to fret about weight gain or anything else. Pregnancy is a privilege, and I feel lucky that I get to do it. It’s kind of sad that men don’t."
Jewel also opens about the importance of being well-educated on pregnancy.
"Knowledge really is power," she says. "The more you can educate yourself, the better. Your body and your health are your responsibility. I love doctors, but I have to live with the decisions I make. Make sure you get your questions answered, and never feel that you are doubting your doctor by asking a question—a good doctor won’t feel that way, either.
Has the host of Bravo's Platinum Hit had any wacky cravings?

"If I had a craving, it was for carbs, but my doctors discovered my diet was low in minerals, so once I increased my mineral intake, the carb cravings diminished," Jewel explains. "I believe a craving really is your body responding to something it needs."
Jewel is also making sure to keep up with her exercise routine.
"At first I was doing rigorous cardio, then slowed down to the elliptical and now I’m doing Julie Tupler’s program for abs," she shares."I also kept riding horses until a couple weeks ago.
