After Jim Carrey was slapped with a second lawsuit over his girlfriend Cathriona White's suicide, his closest confidantes fear the deeply depressed comic will kill himself!
The Mask star has been accused of giving Cathriona sexually transmitted diseases, and hiring private investigators to hound her family!
"Jim has already been on the brink of despair over Cat's death, and this suit could push him over it," said a source.
Cathriona's mom sued the actor, 58, after the beauty's estranged husband, Mark Burton, filed a similar suit. Burton claimed Carrey gave herpes type 1 and 2 and gonorrhea to Cathriona.
His suit alleges Carrey tested positive for STDs in January 2013 and used the name "Jose Lopez" when tested.
In a text message exchange between Cathriona and the comic, the two graphically discussed STD symptoms and getting tested.
"Have a couple of bumps down there again, felt them this morning so I want to get it checked out," Cathriona wrote.
Cruelly, the comic dumped her by saying, "This has been way too much for me to handle. I have been suffering with constant and dangerous levels of stress and I do have to let go. … I've come to the end."
Cathriona's mom, Brigid Sweetman, said she'll drop her suit against Carrey if he submits to an STD test — and the results are negative.
She claimed the "abuse" her daughter suffered at Carrey's hands led to her suicide in September 2015.
"Jim Carrey should be ashamed of what he did to my daughter and should be ashamed for how he has used his attorneys to bad-mouth Cat's husband Mark," said Brigid in a statement.
Cathriona, a 30-year-old Irish makeup artist, was found with pill bottles bearing the name "Arthur King" near her body.
According to the coroner's report, Cathriona died after taking a lethal amount of prescription drugs, although she had no prescription.
And according to Cathriona's family, the star was so upset by Brigid's suit that his legal team "hired private detectives to dig up dirt on his ex-girlfriend's family."
An attorney for Carrey blasted back, calling Brigid's suit an "attempt to capitalize on Cathriona's suicide."
