Known for its roasts and endless humor, the White House Correspondent's Association has long been known for its annual gala dinner every spring. Late night host Jimmy Kimmel has been tapped to host the 98th dinner on April 28, 2012.
Caren Bohan, a Reuters journalist and president of the association said, "Jimmy's humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience." As pointed out by Reuters, the dinner is typically attended by the president and first lady, along with politicians, government officials, celebrities, and journalists. Proceeds of the upcoming event will help fund scholarships and awards to support future reporters. Looks like Jimmy Kimmel's in good company because past comedians who have entertained range from Seth Meyers to Jay Leno. Since the night is all about light-hearted fun, at this year's dinner President Obama poked fun at people who think he doesn't have a U.S. birth certificate by simply indicating he was going to release an official birth video via film footage from The Lion King!
