Jodie Foster has been in a "glass closet" for years, with most people in Hollywood and at home knowing that the Oscar-winning actress is gay. But she has found a pretty great way to publicly confirm her sexuality: she got married!

Jodie has married her girlfriend of a year, photographer Alexandra Hedison, this past weekend, People confirms. They began seeing each other last summer, and got very serious right away. Foster previously dated Cydney Bernard, with whom she has two sons, for twenty years. Hedison previously dated Ellen Degeneres.

Jodie has mocked the gossip around her sexuality in the past, most notably at the 2013 Golden Globes. "I just have the sudden urge to say something I've never really been able to air in public... But I'm just going to put it out there right, loud and proud, I'm going to need your support on this. I am…single," she joked. Now there is no doubt left!
