John Leguizamo plays a father determined for his daughter to marry up in Love In The Time Of Cholera, in theaters now.
In real life, the actor, 43, shares parenting duties of his daughter Allegra, 8, and son, Ryder, 6, with wife of four years Justine.
Would he encourage his daughter to follow the same route?
“Every dad who loves his daughter is not going to want her to go with the penniless, slacker, loser, poet, bum, when she could go out with someone who’s successful with a career,” he says. “They don’t have to be rich but they have to have finances. You want the best for your daughter – especially when you come from not having. You don’t want her to go back to not having. You know what that’s going to be like. You want her to better the blood a little bit.”
