John Leguizamo’s Starter Marriage Was a Blessing

says his first marriage has made his second marriage that much sweeter.

“Luckily I was married before,” the Love in the Time of Cholera actor, 43, tells me. “You need to experience it first, going, ‘Yeah, I need to behave, I need to be true and cool.’ You can make all your mistakes in that one; you don’t make as many mistakes the second time.”

Why is wife Justine perfect for him?

“You luck out in life. You just have to be savvy enough to know that ‘wow, this woman is really special and this is it. I’ve gotta take care of it.’ ”

John has been married to Justine for four years. She is the mother of their daughter Allegra, 8, and son Ryder, 7.
