John Mayer performed some of his classics on NBC's Today show Friday morning at Rockefeller Center in NYC. In true John style, he gave his performance his all, and his passion showed in his weird facial expressions. The controversial crooner has gotten himself in some trouble with his words before, but it looks like John is on the path to redeeming his wrongdoings. He seems to be all about the fans, this summer, and his Battle Studies tour.

John has also set up a system to surprise fans while touring, by showing up in the most surprise spots — like the Ben & Jerry's ice cream truck he hung out in this week for his Jones Beach, N.Y., concert!
