John Mayer Undergoes Surgery to Remove Granuloma Near Vocal Cords; On "Vocal Rest" for a Month

Musician John Mayer took to his Tumblr account on Thursday to update his fans on the issues he has been having with his vocal cords, explaining that he had surgery to remove a granuloma and is resting up so that he can get back to work.
“I had surgery this afternoon to remove it,” John wrote of having, “the granuloma just above my vocal cord,” surgically taken out on his Tumblr page.
The “Your Body is a Wonderland” singer explained that post-op, he will be, "on complete vocal rest for a month or more.”

And while the 34-year-old had to cancel a couple of shows in the past few months, John isn’t letting his time in recovery get him down or put a stop to his creativity.
“I never thought I’d be wishing I could do what I love again; I stay in at night, picking guitar parts off of records and dreaming of playing on the big stage,” John added of being eager to return to making music.
