John Travolta has made his first TV appearance since the tragic death of his son Jett in January, opening up to Ellen DeGeneres on her show airing tomorrow.

John, 55, began the interview by saying, "I just want to take one moment to thank each and every one of you throughout this country, throughout the world, for all your support and all your love for our family. Thank you very much."

Ella Bleu, 9, John's co-star in his family comedy, Old Dogs, also made her talk-show debut with her dad.

The proud father praised Ella's performance in the movie, which also stars Robin Williams, in a moving interview with Ellen.

Glowing with pride, he said, "I'm holding back the tears." To which Ellen deadpanned, "No, really you're not," offering up a box of tissues.
