Johnny Depp Leads 'Rango' to Box Office Victory; Matt Damon Takes 'Adjustment Bureau' to No. 2 Spot!

The animated flick Rango scored the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend, with a $38 million opening. The film stars Johnny Depp as a humorous chameleon who takes on the position of sheriff in a desert town.
Johnny teamed up with Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski for the flick which also stars Isla Fisher, Timothy Olyphant, and Abigail Breslin.

2. The Adjustment Bureau: The action romance starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt debuted at the box office with $20.9 million.
3. Beastly: Most probably a teen favorite, the Beauty and the Beast starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer raked in $10.1 million opening.
4. Hall Pass: The Farrelly brothers-directed flick brought in $9 million its second week of release and earned a total of $27 million since it hit theaters.

5. Gnomeo and Juliet: The animated flick topped the box office last week, and rounded out the Top 5 this week, earning $6.9 million. With executive producer by Elton John — whose music is played throughout the film — this retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet stars James McAvoy and Emily Blunt as the leading gnomes.
