Jon Bon Jovi was left reeling when he received news that his 19-year-old daughter Stephanie Bongiovi had been rushed to hospital suffering a heroin overdose.

But the Livin' on a Prayer rocker has spoken for the first time about the family crisis saying, "Things happen."

"And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."

The 50-year-old's teen was arrested for drug possession after the November 14 incident at Hamilton College in New York, but those charges were later dropped.
