Judge Removes Herself From Lindsay Lohan's Case
Aug. 11 2010, Published 5:59 a.m. ET
Judge Marsha Revel, the no-nonsense judge who put Lindsay Lohan behind bars, has reportedly excused herself as the judge involved with the starlet's case, after claims that she improperly contacted people she shouldn't have.
TMZ cites sources who say prosecutor Danette Myers brought up an issue with Judge Revel, complaining that she had contacted "participants and experts" in the case and failed to alert the lawyers beforehand.

One problem is supposedly that Judge Revel contacted Morningside Recovery rehab facility and selected it as the place Lindsay should go to for her 90-day post-jail program — but it wasn't even on the list of facilities recommended by her court-appointed experts. Lindsay ended up going to UCLA instead.

When the complaints were brought to light on Friday, Judge Revel removed herself voluntarily from the case. She's been replaced by Judge Elden Fox.
