Julia Stiles on Michael C. Hall's Divorce: Don't Blame Me!
Dec. 17 2010, Published 7:14 a.m. ET
If Julia Stiles plays Michael C. Hall's on-screen lover on Dexter then she must be his real-life lover as well, right?
Wrong!
Julia is speaking out saying she has had nothing to do with Micahel's divorce from their fellow Dexter co-star Jennifer Carpenter.
“I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer,” Julia said in a statement issued to Access Hollywood on Thursday. “We are good friends and enjoyed working together. This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy.
“Although I too prefer to keep my private life, private – I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter,” she explained.
Julia joined the Dexter cast during its fifth season, which just concluded, playing a recurring guest star as the character Lumen Pierce.
Both Julia and Michael received Golden Globe nominations earlier this week for their work.

Jennifer officially filed for divorce from Michael on Thursday in L.A. citing "irreconcilable differences."
The official date listed for their separation was Aug. 9, 2010.
“Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce,” reps for the couple said in a joint statement to Entertainment Weekly.
