Karina Smirnoff Calls Off Engagement

She certainly knows how to dance in the ballroom but it looks like Karina Smirnoff won't be dancing down the aisle any time soon. The Dancing With the Stars champion and Detroit Tigers pitcher Brad Penny have called off their engagement.

A source close to the former couple told E! News, "They are just two different people." Another source indicated that Karina wore her engagement diamond ring during photo shoots this past weekend in Las Vegas but removed it when the cameras stopped flashing! She posed for pictures with fans and sipped hot chocolate at the inaugural Winter in Venice celebration put on by the Venetian and the Palazzo. Reps for both Karina and Brad haven't responded to E!'s requests for comments.
