Contrary to what she insists, Kate Gosselin was never your average suburban mom. After having a set of twins and then sextuplets, Kate and husband Jon's life was anything but average. In 2006, TLC selected the unconventional family to star in their own reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8, which became the network's highest rated series. By 2009, Kate had released two books and was a best-selling author — but the good times were coming to an end. That year, rumors of Jon's infidelity hit the media and while Jon denied cheating the couple divoced in June 2009. A year later, Kate shed her practical mom 'do and competed on Dancing with the Stars. While TLC reworked the show to become just Kate Plus Eight it was eventually cancelled.
