Kate Gosselin Blasted by Child Safety Group

Talk about a scary close call! One of Kate Gosselin's sons could have been crushed by her van yesterday when he crawled underneath it as she sat in the driver's seat. A child safety group is speaking out about the incident.
Janette Fennell, president and founder of KidsandCars.org told RadarOnline, "A minivan is a 3,000-pound lethal weapon and having children crawling around it is not prudent." She added, "You should never leave children unattended in or around motor vehicles. Even if they are all capable of getting themselves into the van and getting buckled up, children at that age are unpredictable." It all unfolded yesterday when Kate drove into a parking lot to pick up her eight kids when they got off their school bus. The former reality star-turned-blogger remained in the driver seat when her kids got into the van. All except one, that is. One of the boys darted underneath the van and decided to play on the ground. He did end up getting into the car and luckily Kate's van didn't roll forward or backward during that time. Janette pointed out that car accidents are the number one killer of children. Janette added, "She is blessed she didn't run him over."
