The actress confirmed the sad news today on Bethenny: "This is my last season of Private Practice. It's been an incredible journey and and an amazing ride... and I feel incredibly grateful to creator Shonda Rhimes and all the fans that have been there from day one 'til now," she added.
It has been quite a ride for Addison Montgomery. We first fell in love with her as the ex-wife of Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) on Grey's Anatomy, before being offered her own spin-off and taking Addison from the rain of Seattle to the beaches of Los Angeles.
This isn't the first news of fans losing a regular at the practice. It has already been revealed that fan favorite Tim Daly, who plays Pete Wilder, will not be returning for season six.

“I’m really excited about the last season. I am. It’s bittersweet... a huge chapter of my life,” admits Kate.
Can the show survive without Pete... and then next year... without Addison? Looks like this could be the last season for Private Practice. Do you think the show will go on without Addison?
