Kate Winslet and her family had quite a scare during their Caribbean vacation. The Oscar winner — along with her children — was forced to evacuate the island home of British mogul Richard Branson in the middle of the night due to a fire.
Branson confirmed to the Associated Press that Kate was staying in the eight-bedroom Great House on Necker, his private isle in the British Virgin Islands.
He was staying on another property 100 yards away with his wife Joan and son Sam, 25, when the fire broke out around 4 a.m., caused by wind and lightning.
Richard confirmed everyone escaped safely.
"Kate Winslet, her boyfriend and her family were there.... and some of her friends were also staying," he said in a statement. "My mother was there, and they managed to get her out and she is fine."
