Katie Couric Lands Own Talk Show Hosting Gig on ABC

It's official. Katie Couric is headed to ABC. After her recent departure from her anchor position at CBS Evening News, the beloved TV personality has announced she will be moving on with her career with her own talk show on ABC set to premiere in September 2012.
"I'm so excited to join the @abc family...finally the worst kept secret is out!!" Katie Tweeted, linking to an ABC announcement about her new project.
Katie is a former co-anchor of the TODAY show and was most recently anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, a 60 Minutes correspondent and host of the weekly online interview series, @katiecouric.
Jeff Zucker will server as an executive producer with Katie on the yet-to-be-named syndicated series, which will be based out of NYC.
"Katie Couric is one of television's iconic figures and we are thrilled to have forged such an exciting partnership with her," Anne Sweeney, president of Disney/ABC Television Group and co-chair, Disney Media Networks, said today in a statement. "We look forward to having Katie join the best News team in the business, and to working with her to create a dynamic and successful talk show franchise."
