Katie Couric returned to her old place of work this morning, making a special visit to the Today show to promote her new book The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary Lives. She also reunited with her old co-anchor Matt Lauer, who tried his best to get to the bottom of reports that Katie will be leaving CBS.

At first Katie issued a coy response, explaining she "was excited" about the future.

She added that while she enjoys her role as anchor on CBS Evening News, she has a lot to consider.

"I'm really just in the middle of figuring it out," Katie shared.

Matt pointed out that her contract runs out in June, but Katie claims she still hasn't made up her mind about the future.

"I'll call you as soon as I know," she quipped.

Is she considering her own talk show?

"The creative freedom to pick subjects, to dig deep, to have an intelligent conversation," Katie explained, "It would be nice to have a little more wiggle room to show my personality."
