Katie Holmes really seems to be experimenting with her career right now.
After trying her hand on Broadway, she's just signed on for a movie with notoriously bizarre director Guillermo del Toro.
Katie's rep has confirmed to E! News that the star, who recently wrapped The Extra Man, will be starring in a thriller written by the guy behind the quirky Hellboy series and The Hobbit.
According to the site, Afraid of the Dark will be an "adrenaline pumping flick" base on a 1973 TV movie about a girl who moves in with her dad and his girlfriend -- only to discover they're sharing the house with something mysterious.
