Holmes & Yang — Katie's fashion line with stylist Jeanne Yang — debuted their Spring 2013 collection at Lincoln Center for New York Fashion Week and critics seemed to be generally pleased with the presentation.
"At Holmes & Yang, it all looks very much like Katie," tweeted New York Times scribe, Eric Wilson, which is an apt description of the olive trench coats, ladylike blazers in colors like cherry red and chic dresses all paired with strappy heels. Fashion editors from InStyle and Glamour also appreciated the line, using words like "great" to describe certain items.
"(Holmes & Yang are) basically pieces that have evolved from basics, but not too far," Katie told WWD. "They're just nice, well-made luxury items that highlight the woman wearing them."
When asked about the public's preoccupation with her personal life, she admitted to "a lot of feelings" about the press, adding "there are a lot of people with much bigger problems."
That being said, IMG sent out a strict warning to fashion week's notorious party crashers lining up without an invitation, clamoring for a glimpse of Katie.
