Katie Holmes Is Loving the Single Life After Divorce From Tom Cruise!

Katie Holmes may be single since splitting from Tom Cruise—her husband of six years, but she isn't singing the blues.

The former Dawson's Creek star has been spotted around NYC looking upbeat and happier than ever according to Fox News.

“Katie was so sweet and just so happy. She came in with her mother and her aunt was just so excited to be together for a girls’ weekend,” says an eyewitness, who recently saw the 34-year-old stopping by the Godiva Rockefeller Center Boutique in NYC.

“Katie kept talking about how her sister and niece were coming to town that day to spend the weekend all together. She was walking through, nibbling on every piece of chocolate, taking tiny bites and then sharing the rest with her mom.”

And while a lot of single people dread V-Day, Katie is not one of them. She's going to recreate something she did with her mom as a child for her daughter.

“Katie said that this year she would be spending Valentine’s Day with Suri, keeping alive the tradition of making red pancakes,” a source reveals.

It's only been a few months since Tom and Katie's shocking divorce, but the actress is already living a more independent life and taking control of her career, which is something she didn't do before.

She created her own fashion line Holmes and Yang, which she showed during Fashion Week and just starred in a play on Broadway called Dead Accounts.

Next up she scheduled to star in the romantic comedy Responsible Adults with Chace Crawford where she plays an older woman who has the hots for someone she used to babysit!
