Katie Holmes to Play Jackie Kennedy

Katie Holmes is already the queen of Hollywood but now she's about to become an iconic first lady — Jackie Kennedy.
Mrs Tom Cruise has signed on to play Jacqueline Kennedy in The Kennedys, an upcoming History Channel miniseries about the political dynasty, reports E! Online.

Greg Kinnear will play JFK himself, Tom Wilkinson will portray patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr and Flags of Our Fathers actor Barry Pepper will be Robert F. Kennedy.

The Kennedys will be the cable network's first foray into scripted miniseries and Katie will be following in a long line of actresses who've played the 1960s icon including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Roma Downey.
