Last night when Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise left Chelsea Piers in NYC after a gymnastics class, their Mercedes got sideswiped by a garbage truck!

Luckily, no one got harmed and the car was scraped. The dent occurred at about 9:30 p.m. when the doting mom and daughter were passengers. The only other person in the vehicle was their driver.

A source told the Daily News, "It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes."
