Katy Perry and John Mayer Spotted on a Date Night in L.A.

Recently divorced Katy Perry was snapped taking a love ride with famed lothario, John Mayer, on their way to L.A. celebrity hangout, the Chateau Marmont Hotel last night.

Katy looked demure with recently bobbed hair in a white dress and John looked like John; scruffy in an olive green jacket.

For the past few weeks or so, there have been whispers the two singers were getting to know one another after the duo were spotted grabbing pizza and party hopping, where spies said the California Gurls singer was as "all over him" and "holding hands and cuddling."

John better be wary about dating another fresh-faced songwriter. His 2009 romance with Taylor Swift ended so terribly she penned the now infamous "Dear John," which is a rather scathing portrait of a callous womanizer.

For his part, John says Tay completely overreacted and he "didn't deserve" her wrath.

"It made me feel terrible," he told Rolling Stone. "I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do."

Thankfully, Katy doesn't seem too keen on settling down again anytime soon.

"There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious," she told USA Today. "For me, right now, I'm totally not looking. I'm just looking to heal. And I'm on that path. I'm not down on love."
