September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and to help draw attention, Electrolux is teaming up with Kelly Ripa and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund to help fight back. OK! recently spoke with Kelly about the cause that has become dear to heart, how chores are done in her house and how she keeps in shape.

On her work with Electrolux and the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund: About six years ago I was asked to host an Ovarian Cancer Research Fund fundraiser out in the Hamptons - Super Saturday - and it was so successful, we raised a lot of money. I realized after that that I didn't know very much about ovarian cancer. Not one, but two friends of mine were diagnosed and I made it my thing, my cause, my mission, to raise money and awareness.... The message of the OCRFis early detection, looking for early warning signs, being in tune with your body and, of course, raising as much money as possible to eradicate the disease, which is where Electrolux comes into play.

They've been very devoted to helping us raise money and very generous and they've got these great new appliances which are in the color of Ovarian Cancer Awareness - turquoise - and every time you buy a washer or dryer they donate the money to OCRF.

On who does the household chores in her house: I am the laundress around our house. I've always been. I do the best laundry. I like to do laundry, I find it theraputic, it doesn't bother me. I'm very good at keeping my whites white and my darks dark and I enjoy it.

How her kids help out: They all have to make their own beds - the little ones are pretty good at it. My older boy has dishwasher and trash - so he has dish detail and he has to unload the dishwasher. They're really good, I have to say.

What she loves about Physique 57, the exercise class she takes: It is using your own body's resistance. You use a ballet bar and its physically demanding but its about building muscle and stretching it out. It's a lot of yoga and pilates mixed with weights set to disco music, and I love it. It's the fastest hour of your life. You don't even realize that you've exercised, you just have the best time.

Foods she stays away from to stay fit: I try to do everything in moderation. I don't deprive myself of anything, but I'm not really into sweets that much. I'm not willing to give up anything, and that's why I like to exercise, so I don't have to.
