She may love her role as TV's most glamorous mom, Lily Van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl, but Kelly Rutherford admits, "I'm a single mother with no child support. I have to work.
"I also happen to love what I do and think it's a good example for kids to see their mother working," says mom to Hermes, 2, and 4-month-old Helena.
"My son always says to me, 'Mommy, why do you have to go to work?' and I tell him, 'I have to be able to buy the toys.' He totally gets it."
Kelly, 40, is currently going through a bitter divorce from her second husband Daniel Giersch.
Will we see her moving from the Upper East Side back to Melrose Place to reprise her role as former prostitute Megan Lewis? "I don't know. It depends," she says. "Hypothetically, I would have considered it."
"I came on to Melrose on the last three seasons of the show so I wasn't there for its instant success," she explains.

"With Gossip Girl, I was a part of its success from the beginning. I really appreciate the work and I'm much more relaxed in who I am. In a way, I'm a lot more fulfilled by what I do now than I was then."
