Kiefer Sutherland to Serve Jail Time

After entering a no-contest plea on Wednesday to charges stemming from his DUI arrest in August, actor Kiefer Sutherland is slated to serve a total of 48 hours behind bars.
The 40-year-old actor will begin serving the first portion of the sentence, 18 days for violating a 2004 probation agreement, on Dec. 21. The award-winning star then has until July 1 of 2008 to finish the remaining 30 days of his sentence.

In addition to his time in lockdown, Kiefer, who could lose his license permanently, must take part in an 18-month alcohol-education class and will be on probation for another five years.
