What's a celebration for 60 years on the throne without Britain's biggest rockers? Last night at a historic concet in honor of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, the stars pulled out all the stops.
Kylie Minogue, Paul McCartney, and Elton John were among the entertainers. In fact, Elton performed, "I'm Still Standing." As for Stevie Wonder? He sang the classic hit, "Isn't she lovely?" and changed a few lyrics by crooning, "86 years young."
The concert was bittersweet though since Queen Elizabeth's hubby, Prince Philip, was hospitalized with a bladder infection. According to CBS News, Prince Charles addressed the crowd, "The only sad thing about this evening is that my father couldn't be here with us, because unfortunately, he has taken unwell."
He added, "But if we shout loud enough, he might just hear us in the hospital."
Prince William and Kate Middleton shared the royal box along with Prince Harry and Queen Elizabeth arrived wearing yellow earplugs to block out the overwhelming noise from the crowd. After the concert, apparently a massive fireworks display capped off the evening!
