Dancing with the Stars pro Kym Johnson has teamed up with OK! to update you every week as she attempts to turn her partner Donny Osmond into a ballroom champion!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the ninth installment of my OK! blog! Of course, Donny and I were beyond excited on Monday night because we wound up in first place with an incredible score of 29 — with two tens from both Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli! And Len Goodman gave us a nine — we’ll take it! It was truly a night to remember.

We never dreamed that the Argentine tango would be our dance, but so it was. The pressure was really on as ten couples took to the dance floor. And I thought the dancing was as good as it’s ever been this season for everyone. That’s why I was extremely nervous. Just before we went out there, I told Donny, “Live the dance. Enjoy it and commit to it.” Both of us felt like we were the only ones in the room during the dance. It was just all about us on the floor. I knew during the dance he was doing really well, and I was hoping for tens, but I didn’t expect them. Donny was shocked and says he’ll have to watch the show again to see his reaction to the scores. He couldn’t believe it!

The Argentine tango is really complicated and tricky with the footwork so I have a lot of bruises on my legs from Donny kicking me during rehearsal. But I gave as good as I got, kicking Donny, too. Our bodies got very sore. It’s a beautiful dance, very slow. The main challenge for Donny in rehearsal this week was that he’s noted for being all smiles and the ultimate wholesome family man. The Argentine tango is a sexy, passionate dance. He had to go to the dark side again, as judge Bruno Tonioli suggested! I tried to get him into the character of the dance. I had to get really tough with him. Luckily, it resulted in our highest scoring dance yet.

It looked fun and lighthearted, but Donny and I also spent a lot of time practicing for the group hustle number. It was the first time we got to dance together as a group. Since we weren’t getting judged on it, we just relaxed and enjoyed it. During the actual performance, we had so much fun. And obviously, Donny loved the ‘70s, as that’s when he found his success as a solo artist, so it was completely in his comfort zone.

SOME RECENT PHOTOS OF MINE:

This week, I got to have dinner with Jerry Springer while I was in Las Vegas, so that was a nice break from rehearsals for me. He’s hosting the stage show of America’s Got Talent show at Planet Hollywood. It was great to catch up with Jerry and brought back sweet memories as he was my very first dance partner on Dancing with the Stars. I think DWTS was the start of him moving on to try new things in his life and he couldn’t be happier. You’ll also be happy to know Jerry’s daughter, who inspired him to do DWTS, is also doing well. He’ll be my friend for life.

Tonight on DWTS, you can see me perform again during the Michael Jackson tribute with the other pros. It’s a real honor. I remember dancing to Beat It when I was eight years old. In the DWTS number, I will be doing "Thriller" and hopefully I’ll do it justice!
