Unlike many family members, La La won’t be jet-setting around the world to watch her man, Denver Nugget Carmelo Anthony, participate in the Beijing Summer Olympics. Instead, she’ll hold down fort in Los Angeles, working and taking care of their son, Kiyan, 16 months, which is a job in and of itself.
“I had to mature overnight. I can’t play games anymore,” the former MTV VJ tells OK! of motherhood. “He travels with us. It’s a big responsibility, but now I couldn’t see my life without him.”
The hardest part of it all is, like for most mothers, find the right balance between “handling business and motherhood.”
“But like I said he’s with us all the time,” La La adds.
In addition to motherhood and business plans, there’s another big project in the works for the 29-year-old and Carmelo. The two are looking forward to walking down the aisle shortly, almost three years after their engagement.
“The baby came and kind of derailed the plans a little bit,” La La says. “But it will be soon.”
