When Lady Antebellum won Top Vocal Group of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Need You Now during Sunday’s ACM Awards held in Las Vegas, they couldn’t wait to hit Sin City.

“We really do get along, the three of us, which is so much sweeter because we will go out tonight and celebrate together and have a great time because of the friendship that we have, which is really rare and special,” Hillary Scott, who was spotted Saturday nuzzling up with  Green Bay Packers player Aaron Rodgers, tells me.

Charles Kelley remembers his greatest Vegas memory outside the music industry.

“One time I played $25 on zero, and it hit,” the vocalist, who is Katherine Heigl’s brother-in-law, remembers. “Then, I turned around and lost it the next hour, but that moment was the greatest moment in my life in Vegas.”

For vocalist Dave Haywood, Vegas doesn’t get any better than their Friday night show at Fremont.

“Somebody told me one time that Fremont was the Grand Ole Opry of Vegas,” he says.

The country-crossover trio hopes to grow old together one hit record at a time.

“Every moment keeps getting better,” Charles tells me. “After all these things, we look at each other and go ‘this is it, guys. We’ve gotta remember this.’ And then the next thing you know, this happens and all these things. We’ve been very fortunate, and we’ll just see where the road takes us. We want to be doing what Brooks and Dunn are doing right now – twenty years from now – having to go ‘guys, we need to take a break.’ That would be nice.”

He admits he’s shocked to see the size of their audiences double now that the band has gone mainstream.

“Us and Lady Gaga, we write songs about phones,” Hillary cracks, adding the pop darling’s song title “Telephone.”

Despite his super-tall stature, Charles won’t be moonlighting as a basketball star.

“I’m 6’6,” and I still can’t dunk,” he says. “If that tells you anything about my athletic ability …”

Hillary adds, “It’s so funny, he’s like ‘I’m 6’6,” if I could be playing sports, I’d be playing sports.”
