Lady Gaga is not your traditional pop princess. The singer, who came to prominence after releasing her debut album The Fame in 2008, has become synonymous with over-the-top fashion and LGBTQ activism. Her style has become iconic: from the Kermit the Frog doll dress to soda can hair rollers to simply going pants-less, no one does fashion like Gaga. The star also has used her songs to promote equal rights, including the chart-topping anthem "Born This Way" and the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' critique "Alejandro." Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, has also nabbed five Grammys and earned a record-breaking 13 MTV Video Music Award nominations in her young career. Not bad for a college dropout!
