Laila Ali rocks a Pea In A Pod dress and high heels as she struts down the runway cradling her bump in the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fashion show held Wednesday at NYC’s Lincoln Center as a kickoff to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Now that the former boxer is on baby #2, what shocks her most about pregnancy?

“I don’t get shocked easily,” the daughter of Muhammad Ali, 33, tells me. “I do my research and I know what to expect. Your body changes. It’s such a short period of time that I know now after the first one that it’s going to come and go so quickly that you’ll get back to yourself. It takes a lot of work to get back to yourself.”

But this pregnancy is a little different than her first one, when she was carrying son Curtis, 2, whose dad is hubby Curtis Calloway.

“This pregnancy I’m a little surprised I’m having cravings. The first pregnancy, I didn’t. This time I really want sweets, sweets, sweets. I’ve gotta watch it. I’ve got two more months, and I’ve already put on 30 pounds, so I have to watch it.”

For Laila, who sticks to an organic diet during the week and indulges on the weekend, staying active is a priority.

“I get up and make workouts the first part of my day,” she says. “I workout in the morning and get it out of the way. If I don’t, I won’t.”

Staying healthy is key, and she urges women to make time to take care of themselves.

“If we break down, everything breaks down. A lot of times we overlook ourselves. I think it’s important to take time for ourselves, plan and have priorities.”

Along with Julianne Hough, Audrina Patridge, Camila Alves, Denise Richards, Eve, Alison Sweeney, Giuliana Rancic, Katrina Bowden, Natasha Bedingfield, Suzanne Somers and Patti LaBelle, Laila walks in the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fashion show to raise awareness of heart disease as the #1 killer of women.
