Country star Lauren Alaina shared some devastating news with her fans on Sunday afternoon that her stepdad Sam Ramker had passed away in the early hours of the morning. This happened following a battle with Stage IV cancer.
"My stepdad, Sam, went to heaven at one o’clock this morning," she wrote on her social media alongside a photo of them with her mother Kristy Suddeth. "He was the purest example of how to love and live life fully. His last few hours were some of the most amazing moments I know I will ever have the privilege of witnessing."

She first shared the news that he had been diagnosed with cancer back in June while participating in the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game, for which she played in his honor. The "What If" songstress canceled a bunch of shows over the weekend prior to his death. May he rest in peace.
