From reality TV star to fashion designer to author to filmmaker -- Lauren Conrad's career will take the next step as she sees the fruits of her labor on the big screen: Temple Hill Entertainment has acquired screen rights to her bestselling debut novel L.A. Candy, Variety reports.
LC will be an executive producer through her Blue Eyed Girls Productions company. L.A. Candy has been on the New York Times' bestsellers list for 14 weeks.
The novel mirrors LC's life, revolving around a 19-year-old girl, Jane Roberts, who moves to Hollywood and rises to fame as the star of a reality TV show, but then has to deal with living such a public life. Lauren is already planning to write two more books for the series.
Bowen said they will set a writer before looking for a studio/financier for the project, which was sold by UTA. Conrad will be involved in shaping the direction of the script.
