Liam Hemsworth & Josh Hutcherson Land Roles in 'Hunger Games'; Miley Cyrus Tweets Support

Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have nabbed roles in the highly-anticipated flick the Hunger Games as Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne, respectively! The young, hot Hollywood actors star alongside Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence, who will play Katniss Everdeen, the heroine of the film based on the trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

Lionsgate announced today on the Hunger Games Twitter page: "We are pleased to announce that actor Josh Hutcherson has been cast as Peeta Mellark, w/ Liam Hemsworth cast in the role of Gale Hawthorne!"

Josh was long-anticipated to star in the film, while Liam was more of a surprise.

Miley Cyrus is certainly excited for Liam, who she is allegedly dating again.

"I can say the best news ever now! Dang word travels fast! Liam booked the role of Gale in Hunger Games! I gotta go read all the books now!" she Tweeted.

The film will be directed by Gary Ross and and is slated for release by Lionsgate on March 23, 2012.
