As Leighton Meester filmed a scene for Gossip Girl in Piermont, N.Y. on Wednesday, Kevin Zegers (who plays Taylor Momsen's new love interest) was able to keep Queen B smiling...for the most part. They weren't the only happy pair on set, though. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley were also spotted giving each other cute kisses on the cheeks with arms wrapped around one another.
Derena fans, don't get your hopes up! Since Blake and Penn are an offscreen couple as well as an on-and-off onscreen couple, the cheek kisses don't mean anything for Dan and Serena's future. These relationships can get so confusing!

Leighton was also spotted carrying around a book of crosswords on set. Maybe Blair's getting brainy now that she's going to Columbia?

That's very doubtful, though. Most likely, the book was just a way for Leighton to lift her vocabulary knowledge between scenes.
