Lindsay Lohan reportedly claims she was loaned a necklace by Kamofie & Company while the owner reportedly claims she stole it. But there may not be a good case because according to TMZ the owner waited too long to call the cops.

Kamofie & Company's owner says the actress walked out of the store wearing a $2,500 necklace on Jan. 22, but didn't report it to the LAPD until the 23rd, TMZ reports.
According to TMZ sources, the owner reportedly tried to contact Lindsay's team on the 22nd to ask for the necklace back, but couldn't get a hold of anyone.
And TMZ reports that Lindsay's claim that she was loaned the necklace does seem possible since she has been loaned plenty of jewelry by other stores before.

The D.A., according to TMZ, would need to prove Lindsay had the intention to permanently take the necklace as she walked out the door in order to charge her.
