Lindsay Lohan Won't Be On 'Letterman;' Starlet Sorry for the Confusion

Lindsay Lohan will not be on the Late Show With David Letterman this week, despite an announcement from CBS yesterday saying the 24-year-old would appear on the show via satellite to announce the "Top 10" segment. What happened? Allegedly the scheduled appearance was a hoax by someone in LiLo's camp.
Her Letterman stop would have been the troubled actress' first TV appearance since she was charged last week with stealing a $2,500 gold necklace, and since she has left rehab (for the fifth time in five years).
So what went wrong with her allegedly scheduled cameo?
"We made a mistake. Someone purporting to be a friend of Lindsay's reached out to the show yesterday, allegedly on her behalf, and booked her to appear," Tom Keaney, spokesman for the show's production company Worldwide Pants, said in a statement, via Reuters.
"Clearly, this person was not authorized to make commitments on her behalf. We wish Lindsay well, and look forward to having her on the show in the future," Keaney added.

LiLo also made sure to Tweet about the mix-up to fans.
"I am NOT going to be doing David Letterman, I'm not sure how this happened, but I am sorry for the confusion..." she wrote.
We bet the "Top 10" segment will still somehow involved Linds.
Lindsay pleaded not guilty last week to grand theft — which currently is the most serious charge against the actress in her troubled past of failed drug tests, missed court appearances and stints in jail stemming from a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession offense.
