'The Lion King' Beats Out 'Moneyball' at Box Office With $22.1 Million

Brad Pitt and his Moneyball were no match for the classic Disney film, The Lion King, at this weekend's box office.

OK! NEWS: THE LION KING WINS TOP SPOT AT BOX OFFICE WITH $29.3 MILLION

The Lion King was the leader once again this weekend with $22.1 million, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In total, the re-release of the 1994 film in 3-D has grossed $61.7 million.

And here's even better news for fans! Disney is reportedly trying to extend the release of the film in theaters.

Sadly, Brad and Jonah Hill's Moneyball came in second with $20.6 million. But, if estimates are correct it could be the best opening ever for a baseball movie!
